How the course prepares you for CIPLE
The CIPLE is the A2 exam in European Portuguese run by CAPLE, the assessment centre of the University of Lisbon. It has three parts: reading together with written production and interaction, listening, and oral production and interaction. Our complete CIPLE exam guide explains the format, scoring and fees, and the CIPLE A2 exam format goes through each part.
The course follows the same skills. On the platform you build vocabulary and grammar module by module, with auto-graded tests. At the end of each module you write and speak in the CIPLE format, and a teacher checks your work. With Premium or Exclusive you also practise speaking live with a native teacher, which is the part that is hardest to train alone.

Please note: OneGrade prepares you for the A2 level and the CIPLE format, but it can't guarantee that you pass: the exam is yours to take. The CIPLE fee is not included and is paid to CAPLE when you register. Our certificate of completion is not an official language certificate; your A2 level is confirmed by passing CIPLE.
Common questions
Does the course register me for the CIPLE exam?
No. You register for CIPLE yourself, at an exam centre (LAPE), and pay the fee to CAPLE. Our guide explains the steps, and the course prepares you for the level and the exam format.
Do I need any Portuguese to start?
No. The course starts from zero. If you already know some Portuguese, take the free level test first and we suggest the plan that fits your level.
Is it European or Brazilian Portuguese?
European Portuguese, the Portuguese spoken in Portugal and used in the CIPLE exam. Explanations are in English and the teachers are native speakers of European Portuguese.
How long do I have access to the course?
